| Front: Portrait of Vasil Levski (1837 - 1873), liberator of Bulgaria from Ottoman rule and his immortal phrase: "If I win - the entire nation wins, if I lose - I lose only myself." Lithography ‘Liberated Bulgaria’ (Liberty with flag and sword accompanies by a lion) by Georgi Danchov. Back: The monument of Vasil Levski in the center of Sofia. Pistol, dagger and a cross on top of a book. Written oath of Vasil Levski after the general meeting in Bucharest on 16 June 1872, which authorizes him to do his work in the entire country. Watermark: Effigy of Vasil Levski. Main colour: Green. Security features: Consecutively running black horizontal serial numbers on the obverse of the banknote. Embedded solid 1,25 mm wide vertically positioned security thread bearing the microtext "BNB" in cyrillic letters. Coloured security fibers (hairs), the top serial number and central part of the banknote fluoresce while exposed to an ultraviolet light. Artist: Kiril Gogov.
