Front: Roan antelope (Hippotragus equinus). National emblem and flag of Burundi. Pineapple plants with fruits. Back: Map outline of Burundi with a photo of tea pickers within. Watermark: Portrait of the Prince Louis Rwagasore; Electrotype "BRB" in a vertical fashion. Main colour: Lilac (purple). Security features: Consecutively running black and red horizontal serial numbers on the obverse of the banknote. Invisible security fibers (hairs), extremely sparsely distributed, barely present, the invisible denomination "2000 BRB" that fluoresce while being exposed to an ultraviolet light. Vertical, segmented, windowed 3 mm wide plastic security thread with the floating motion effect. See-through register in a form of a fish.
