Traditional Chinese Architecture: Bell tower of one of the temples (Fayu Rain Temple) on Putuo Mountain (Putuoshan), Zhoushan island, Zhejiang Province, decorated with roof charms on top of the upturned flying eaved "dragon" roof, which is covered with semi-cylindrical clay pan tiles (Photographed circa 1875-87 by the American naturalist, Army Major Robert Wilson Shufeldt).
