Front: Custom engraved portrait "Beardless Clean Shaven Young Man" of Lucas Cranach the Elder (1472 - 1553)
of Albrecht Dürer (1471 - 1528) as a young man by Anton Neupauer. Oil on wood (the original, c.1500). Reverse:
Sailing training ship called "Gorch Fock" of the "Bark" type, named after the pseudonym of the German author Johann
Wilhelm Kinau (1880 – 1916). The ship was built by Blohm & Voss and is owned by German Navy (Deutsche Marine).
The ship was launched and commissioned in 1958. Deutsche Bundesbank seal. Watermark: Portrait of the
"Beardless Clean Shaven Young Man" by Lucas Cranach the Elder. Security features: Multilevel header watermark.
Running serial numbers. Metallic security strip. Green and blue fibres or threads interspersed in the paper fluorescing
under ultraviolet light. Predominant colour: Greyish blue. Design: Max Bitroff. Signatures: Karl Otto Pöhl (President,
1980-1991); Helmut Schlesinger (Deputy Chairman, 1980-1991). Printing method: Intaglio printing, indirect letterpress
printing; banknote number with letterpress print. Issuer: Deutsche Bundesbank. Date of issue: 2 January 1980.
Date of release: 21 October 1963. Withdrawn from circulation: 1990. Legal tender: No. Material: Cotton
