Front: Head of a lion. Fasil Ghebbi (Fasilides Castle) fortress in Gondar, also referred to as Enqulal Gemb (Egg Castle), for its egg-shaped roofs of its towers. King Ezana's Stela – obelisk of Axum (Aksum). Reverse: Sof Omar Cave in Bale Province. Duke Gate in the Harar city. Watermark: Obelisk of Aksum and Fasilides Castle. Security features: Microtext. Printed and embossed anticopy key (PEAK) in a shape of Ethiopian map outline bearing numbers "100". Two black consecutively running horizontal serial numbers on the obverse of the banknote. Segmented, windowed, vertically positioned, exposed on the obverse, 4 mm wide metallic direction- and colour- changing RollingStar® security thread with ColourShift technology, bearing demetalized monogram "NBE", "100" etc. Invisible to the eye Ethiopian numeral denominational block, the serial numbers, the lion's head and parts of the banknote design fluoresce under ultraviolet light. See-through registration image in a small circle. Tactile feature: There are six diagonal marks on both ends of the obverse to enable physical identification of the note for the visually impaired and the blind people. Main colour: Blue.
