| Front: Independence Arch in the Independence Square at Accra, Ghana, inscribed with the words "Freedom and Justice, AD 1957". The Big Six, - six leaders of the United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC), the leading political party in the British colony of the Gold Coast: Dr. Ebenezer Ako-Adjei, Edward Akufo-Addo, Joseph Kwame Kyeretwie Boakye Danquah, Kwame Nkrumah, Emmanuel Odarkwei Obetsebi-Lamptey, William Ofori Atta. Coat of arms. Back: Bank of Ghana building, Accra. Palm trees. Stockpile of gold bars. Watermark: Tetteh Quarshie; Cacao pod; Electrotype "10" and reinforced cornerstones. Security features: Consecutively running serial numbers on the front of the banknote.
