Front: Lutheran Bishop of Skálholt - Brynjolfur Sveinsson (1605-1675). Back: Brynjólfskirkja (Brynjólfur church) (1650-1802) at Skálholt erected by Bishop Brynjolfur Sveinsson. Watermark: Effigy of Jón Sigurðsson (1811 - 1879). Security features: Consecutively running serial numbers on the front of the banknote. Segmented 1 mm wide security thread. Serial number, denomination block and other design elements (on the obverse) fluorescing under ultraviolet light. Reinforced cornerstones. Predominant colour: Purple. Designers: Kristin Thorkelsdóttir, Stephen A. Fairbairn (1984). Signature: Svein Harald Øygard (Feb. 2009 - Aug. 2009). Security thread: Segmented 1 mm (obverse exposure). Printing method: Intaglio.
