Canyon Dam. Butterfly, Lemon Migrant (Catopsilia
Pomona). The Sri Lanka Yellow Eared Bulbul (Pycnonotus penicillatus). The Sri Lanka Lion or Ceylon Lion (Panthera leo sinhaleyus) bearing a sword. Reverse: Rathnaprasadaya carved guard stone with guardian deities. Nagaraksha dancer and a Guruluraksha dancer. Kalpavrksha stylized floral motif, appears along the right side of the note. Watermark: Sri Lanka Yellow Eared Bulbul, "5000" and reinforced cornerstones. Predominant colour: Gold. Signatures: Mahinda Rajapaksa (His Excellency the President and Minister of Finance); Mr. Ajith Nivard Cabraal (Governor of the Central Bank). Date of Issue: 1 January 2010.
