Front: Portrait of Simonas Daukantas (1793-1864). National symbol of Lithuania - Vytis (Knight on horseback). Lintels made up of oak leaves. Back: Aerial view of Vilnius Old Town with Vilnius University in the centre. Watermark: Vytis, the knight on horseback. Security features: Consecutively running horizontal and vertical black serial numbers on the front of the banknote. Vertical, solid, 1 mm wide security thread. Paper with watermark. Denomination "100" in the center of the obverse fluoresce under ultraviolet light. Predominant colours: Green and brown. Artist: Rytis Valantinas. Signatures: Eduardas Vilkelis (Finance Minister, 1992-1995); Kazys Ratkevicius (Chairman of the Board, 1993-1996). Printing method: Intaglio. Issuer: Bank of Lithuania. Date of issue: 25 June 1993 (1994). Yet the 100 LTL banknote with two signatures (below) has never been released into the circulation. Date of withdrawal: N/a. Total issue: 5,1 million banknotes.
