Front: Portrait, bust and left hand of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the regalia of the Order of the Garter from a 1956 painting by Pietro Annigoni. Coat of arms depicting Dodo (Raphus cucullatus), Sambar deer (Rusa unicolor), lymphad, palm trees, sugar cane, key. Back: Sailing boat, Lion Mountain or Montagne de Lion and the Monument to the Dutch Sailors' First Landing (in 1598) at the bay of Vieux Grand Port near Mahébourg, Isle de France (now Mauritius). Watermark: Dodo bird (Raphus cucullatus). Security features: Watermark. Consecutively running horizontal serial numbers on the obverse of the banknote. Vertical, solid, 0.5 mm wide security thread.
