Obverse: Mount Everest (Chomolungma). Taleju temple in Durbar Square in old Kathmandu. Old coin. Reverse: Himalayan mountains with Chomolungma (Sagarmatha) in the center; Yaks (Bos grunniens). Nepal Rastra Bank emblem. Watermark: Rhododendron flower - National flower of Nepal. Security features: Consecutively running black horizontal serial numbers on the obverse of the banknote. Solid, fully embedded 1 mm wide metallic security thread. Invisible to the eye hi-lite numeral '5' and Mt. Chomolungma on both sides fluoresce under ultraviolet light. Main colours: Shades of red: lilac, pink. Signature: Yuba Raj Khatiwada (Governor, 22 March 2010 – 19 March 2015). Artist: Unknown. Issuer: Nepal Rastra Bank. Date of issue: 2012.
