Watermark: Dr. John Garang de Mabior; Electrotype "1"; Reinforced cornerstones. Predominant colour: Olive-green. Security features: Watermarked paper. Windowed 1 mm wide vertically positioned security thread with demetalized 'Bank of South Sudan 1'. Coloured filament fibers (hairs), hi-lite block with denomination "1" and parts of the design of the note fluoresce while being exposed to ultraviolet light. 10 mm wide golden band with vertically repeated denominations "1". Consecutively running red vertical and black ascending horizontal serial numbers on the front of the currency banknote. Issuer: Bank of South Sudan. Remark: Although the actual governor of the Bank of South Sudan (BOSS) is Kornelio Koriom Mayiek and a similar sounding John Dor Majok is listed as 1st Deputy Governor for Banking Supervision Research & Statistics, but these banknotes were signed by Elijah Malok, who was never appointed to the position of Governor of the South Sudanese Central Bank. |
