Front: The upper part of the saluting Syrian Army Soldier Statue in Umayyad Square in Damascus. The Syrian flag devoid of its colours. Back: Palmyrene Sun God Yarhibol with an eagle holding an olive branch in its beak: Temple of Baalshamin in the city of Palmyra, 2nd century AD. Lintels with ornamental designs. Watermark: Coat of arms; Electrotype '5000'. Security features: Embossed intaglio lintel as HMC (Hidden Multi Coloured image) with Arabic '5000' denomination. Running black horizontal and vertical serial numbers on the obverse of the banknote. Solid, holographic, vertical, windowed on the obverse, 5 mm wide security thread, bearing demetalized and motional '5000' and also static 'CBS'. The coloured filament fibers (hairs), the security stripe, the '5000' denomination numerals and small parts of the design fluoresce under ultraviolet light. Registration device in a form of an octagonal mosaic. One denomination is executed in OVI (Optically Variable Ink). Microperforation. Tactile feature: Series of sloping intaglio lines on both left and right edges of the banknote. Main colours: Tan and brown. Artist: Robert Kalina (Austria).
