Obverse: Head of a giraffe. Coat of arms depicting male and female holding elephant tusks. Lion (Panthera leo). Ornamental guilloche pattern, lathework and lintels throughout the banknote. Reverse: Bank of Tanzania building (with the Twin Towers omitted) in Dar es Salaam. House of Wonders (Beit-al-Ajaib) in Stone Town, Zanzibar. Watermark: Head of a giraffe. Security features: Consecutively running black horizontal and red vertical serial numbers on the obverse of the banknote. Solid, windowed, vertical 1 mm wide security tread with demetalized 'BOT 10000' repeated. Holographic 10 mm wide surface-applied security stripe depicting 'BOT 10000' and multiple giraffes. Coloured filament fibers (hairs), the denomination '10000' hi-lite block, the vertical serial number and central part of the frontal design fluoresce when exposed to an ultraviolet light. Tactile feature: Five vertically positioned rectangular shapes on the right hand side of the giraffe's head, applied on top of the holographic security stripe. Main colours: Blue and magenta.
