| Front: Generalísimo Francisco de Miranda (1750–1816) from portrait painting by Martin Tovar y Tovar. Back: Guacamayo verde – Military macaw (Ara militaris) in the Waraira Repano National Park, Caracas. Venezuelan coat of arms. Watermark: Portrait of Simón Bolívar; Electrotype 'BCV'. Security features: Watermarked paper. Consecutively running black and red serial numbers on the obverse of the banknote. Windowed (with exposure on the obverse), polymeric, 4 mm wide security thread with dynamic effects which also bears bank monogram 'BCV'. Another, solid, fully embedded, 1 mm wide security thread. Military macaw and five-pointed star registration feature. Parts of the design, the red serial number and the coloured filament fibers (hairs) on both sides of the banknote fluoresce while exposed to an ultraviolet light. Tactile feature: Large pentagon-shaped dot to help blind people recognize the banknote. Predominant colours: Purple and shades of blue.
