Back: Venezuelan troupial or Turpial (Icterus icterus), which is a national bird of Venezuela – in the Macarao National Park. Venezuelan coat of arms. Watermark: Portrait of Simón Bolívar; Electrotype 'BCV'. Security features: Watermarked paper. Latent image 'BCV' under portrait. Consecutively running black and red serial numbers on the obverse of the banknote. Windowed (with exposure on the obverse), polymeric, 4 mm wide security thread with dynamic effects which also bears bank monogram 'BCV'. Turpial bird and five-pointed star registration feature. Parts of the design, the red serial number, the security thread and the coloured filament fibers (hairs) on both sides of the banknote fluoresce while exposed to an ultraviolet light. Tactile feature: Large intaglio dot near Bolivar's head it to help blind people recognize the banknote. Predominant colour: Buff.
