Front: Portrait of Luisa Cáceres de Arismendi (1799 - 1866), heroine of the Venezuelan War of Independence. Back: Two Hawksbill sea turtles (Eretmochelys imbricata). Crests of the Macanao mountains at Laguna de la Restinga National Park, Margarita Island. Venezuelan coat of arms. Watermark: Portrait of Luisa Cáceres de Arismendi; Electrotype "5000". Security features: Watermarked paper. Consecutively running black and red serial numbers on the obverse of the banknote. Segmented (windowed), 5 mm wide metallic holographic security thread bearing text "BCV 5000". Turtle and five-pointed star registration feature. Parts of the design, the red serial number and the coloured filament fibers (hairs) on both sides of the banknote fluoresce while exposed to an ultraviolet light. Tactile feature: Bar and four dots under it to help blind people recognize the banknote. Predominant colour: Green.
