Front: President and dictator of Zaire: Mobutu Sese Seko Kuku Ngbendu Wa Za Banga, born Joseph-Désiré Mobutu (14 October 1930 7 September 1997) in military uniform wearing spectacles (eyeglasses). Coat of arms of Zaire (1971-1997). A leaping leopard. Back: An emblem of Zaïre taken from a flag of Zaire depicting a hand holding a flaming torch. Watermark: Portrait of Mobutu Sese Seko in 1/2 profile; Inscription "10 Zaïres". Security features: Consecutively running black horizontal serial numbers on the front of the banknote. Vertical, 1 mm wide security thread with "Republique du Zaïre" text repeated on it. Embedded filament fibers (hairs) fluoresce while exposed to an ultraviolet light. Main colour: Blue.
